A message to our customers about COVID-19:

In Juniper Books’ effort to take every step necessary to keep our staff and our customers safe, we are continuously updating our Covid-19 policy and following the recommended guidelines. Currently, we are closed to the public for tours, but we look forward to connecting with our customers in person once we are able.

A message to our customers about shipping:

Disruptions to supply chains are happening globally. Due to this, shipping carriers are sometimes taking longer to reach their final destinations than in normal times. We encourage all of our customers to shop early this year to account for potential delays. Juniper Books has extended our return/exchange policy this holiday season for items that have not been customized and personalized.  Please see the full policy HERE.

Curious about when a specific set will be back in stock?

Our team is working tirelessly to try to keep our sets in stock and ready to go for you. Any out of stock book set you see on our website will be back in stock as soon as possible, and we encourage you to press the "notify me" button on the product page to receive a personal notification the moment the set is available again. 

I want to return my order and I paid with Bitcoin. How will I receive my refund?

For orders that were paid with Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency, we will issue refunds and partial refunds only in USD based upon the original purchase price. Gift certificates purchased with cryptocurrency are non-refundable. See our returns page for other policies that apply.

 

 

About Juniper Books

Who is Juniper Books?

Juniper Books is a specialty bookseller with a focus on building custom libraries and creating unique book sets. We offer over 400 book sets from children's classics to cookbooks and popular series. All of our sets make great gifts and add interest to any interior design. Our book jackets are hand-folded and each order is carefully packaged with care in our studio before being sent out. There is an entire team of talented people behind every book and every shipment making sure we do things perfectly for every client. We buy books from publishers we love and respect, to make sure authors and estates are compensated for their hard work and creativity. We make and sell products one at a time and take care of clients one at a time. There is a cost to all of this, but we think it’s worth it.

Thatcher Wine, our founder, invented custom book jackets between 2008 and 2010. Our custom covers can change the look and color of any book, turn bookshelves into art installations, unify a home design, show off a corporate brand, and so much more. United States Patent No. 9,349,308 was granted to Thatcher and Juniper Books in 2016.

Every Juniper Books creation begins with the same handful of elements: high quality, carefully curated books, creative and thoughtful designs plus exceptional customer service. It takes more time, and it costs more to run a business this way, but we believe our customers are more than worth it.

Do you have a showroom or a place where I can see your books?

All of our book sets are proudly designed and hand-assembled in the USA! If you are in Boulder, Colorado you are welcome to visit our showroom and studio once we reopen to the public.

Do you have an old fashioned brick-and-mortar bookstore?

No, we do not, however, there is a bookstore called Juniper Used and Rare Books in Canada that we have heard is a wonderful place to visit. We are not affiliated with them.

Do you sell fake books?

All of our books are real printed books. For certain projects that call for fake books, we do have the ability to make them. Please contact us for more details.

What makes you different from other booksellers that sell books-by-the foot and other decorative books?

We are a small, privately owned company that works with clients to source them exactly the books they want and need for their project. Our specialty is books that are engaging to read and look great on the shelf. Our dedicated team will work with each client individually and tailor our abilities to meet your needs.

Do you sell rare books?

While we do not sell individual rare books, we understand the importance of including them in collections. We do occasionally source rare books for our large custom library projects. If you are interested in rare books on a smaller scale, we suggest using abebooks.com, abaa.org, or finding a rare and/or used bookseller near you.

 

International Orders & Shipping

What is your international shipping policy? What will the cost be and can I prepay VAT charges?

We ship all around the world! Please add the books to your shopping cart and begin the checkout process to see the shipping methods and associated costs for your location before you complete your purchase.

Do you offer AfterPay for international purchases?

At this time, AfterPay is only available for purchases within the United States, but our international customers can use all major credit cards and PayPal for purchases on juniperbooks.com.

What currency are your prices listed in?

Our website has the ability to show our prices in the customers local currency. We have set this up to make our website more friendly to international customers. You will be charged using your local currency. If you are using a VPN or some other type of IP masking, the currency will show as whatever the local currency is for the region you have your device set to.

Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Military Bases, and US Territories?

We do offer shipping services to Alaska, Hawaii, Military Bases, and US Territories via FedEx.

 

Common Questions About Your Juniper Books Account and Specific Orders

Can you include a gift receipt in my order?

Every box will ship with an order receipt, but the price is never shown. All orders ship in branded boxes, unless otherwise specified. If you would like to have your order shipped in an unbranded box, please put a note in the 'Notes to Seller' box at checkout. If you have already checked out, please email customer service and they will a note to your order.

Will I get tracking information when my order leaves your studios?

Yes, the day your order leaves our studios, whatever email address is on the order will receive a message with tracking information. If you do not get it, it sometimes goes into your spam folder. If you still do not see it, please email customer service and they will help you out.

I see multiple charges in my account, have I been charged more than once?

Your account will show each attempted purchase. If a purchase was rejected for some reason, you will see a pending charge in your account. A pending charge does not take funds from your bank account, only a successful transaction will do so. For any successful purchase you will receive an email confirmation with an order number as well.

What if a book or jacket I received is damaged?

If you received a damaged book or jacket, please take a photo of the specific area of concern and submit it to Customer Service within 7 days of receiving your order. We stand behind every product we ship and will be happy to look into your order and assist you further.

 

Custom with Juniper Books

Can I place a custom order?

We work on custom orders all the time, from a book set with a handful of titles to custom libraries with thousands of books. We encourage clients to contact us as early as possible, especially around the holidays in order to ensure that we can provide the books and the design you are interested in by your deadline. The custom order minimum is $450. Sales and discounts cannot be applied to Custom. You can find more information about this service on our Custom FAQ page!

Can you design jackets for a collection of books I already own?

Yes! If they are books we currently offer, we will need to match ISBNs so we are sure your new jackets will fit your books precisely. If they are books we do not carry, we will need you to ship them to us. We have clients ship us their most cherished collections frequently from all over the world.

 

About Our Book Sets

Are your books in English?

All of our Off-the-Shelf books are written in the English language.

Do you sell International editions of HP?

We sell Harry Potter in the US edition as well as the original UK editions. Juniper Books is one of the only suppliers of the UK editions in America.  Unfortunately, other international editions of Harry Potter are difficult to acquire from the US, we do not offer them on our site.

What is the difference between the UK and US Harry Potter editions?

The difference between the US and UK editions include a few colloquial changes to the voice of the writing, The UK edition is left in J.K. Rowling's original voice, while the US edition is adapted for the US reader. Their size is a little different too, the US version, each book is 9.25" tall and the UK Version is 8" tall.

Can I pick my Harry Potter Mashup ratio?

We can create your own version of  our Harry Potter Mashup Set. Please contact customer service if you are interested in creating a custom mashup set for an additional fee.

Can I just buy the jackets without the books?

We do offer some jackets independently for customers who already own the books – explore our Jackets Only Collection to see all of our Jackets Only offerings. You will want to make sure your ISBNs match exactly to what we have listed on the product page within the ‘Includes’ tab, as we do not allow returns of Jackets Only products.

Why do my ISBNs need to match those listed on the website for Jackets Only options?

If the ISBNs do not match, you run the risk of our jackets not quite fitting your books as they should. We list the ISBNs of the exact book we have sized the corresponding jacket to, verifying them will ensure our jackets will fit your books.

Your Narnia book set is not in chronological order, can you switch the order for me?

The order we have our book set is the order the publisher issued them. We can make a custom set and reorganize the books under the same design but the underlying books will still have the published order on the inside pages. If you are still interested, please email customer service for the price to reprint the jackets in the order you want them.

I have an idea for a book set - do you ever take suggestions?

We love suggestions! Email customerservice@juniperbooks.com. We can always create a custom set for you too!

As future books come out in a series will you add to the current sets and sell the new book and jacket alone?

Yes, we have designed a few of our sets knowing more books will be released. We plan to sell these as singular books when they are released for those who have already purchased our sets.

 

Working With Us

I have a donation request, who can I contact?

We receive a lot of donation requests and we wish we could contribute to them all. Please email customer service to tell us about your unique request.

Do you have a trade program for designers and others in the industry?

Yes, we offer a trade discount to design industry professionals on orders placed in our online store as well as on custom orders. Please request an account on our trade page or to email us trade@juniperbooks.com to request a catalog or ask questions.

Do you sell books for commercial projects?

Yes, we have worked with restaurants, hotels, co-working spaces, luxury residential buildings, retail stores, spas, offices, and other spaces. Please visit our trade page or portfolio for more information.
